Ed Garza

Prior to founding Zane Garway, Ed completed a distinguished tenure in development at EDAW/AECOM and The International Waterfront Group. He also served eight years as an elected public official before being termed-out. He served two terms as Mayor of San Antonio and previously served two terms as the District 7 City Council representative.

Ed's political achievements include: the expansion of high-tech and biomedical industries; the development of a skilled, well-paid workforce; housing and mixed-used policies and investment in downtown and the inner city; the revitalization of historic neighborhoods and urban villages, the modernization of local government and the creation of new economic generators in underinvested, disadvantaged areas towards the realization of sustainable development.

A lifelong resident of San Antonio, Ed holds a BA in Landscape Architecture and a Master of Science in Land Development from Texas A&M University. He is a member of Urban Land Institute, the American Planning Association and the American Society of Landscape Architects. Ed serves on several boards and was recently elected a trustee of the San Antonio Independent School District.
